Immigration approval and DTC!

Thought we would give a little update on our adoption process...

We received our immigration approval in June! I wrote a whole post about it and realized I never posted it. At that point, we were sorting paperwork and getting all of our dossier documents together. The dossier is the collection of documents (including the homestudy) that is sent to China. It is a big deal. The dossier has to go through a process of authentication, through the county, city, state, and then at the consulate in Houston, before being sent to China. Much of the process since we started it in January has been focused on preparing the dossier (background checks, homestudy interviews, tons of paperwork, photos, etc). Once it is received in China, this marks somewhere around halfway in the process.

As of 8.15.2013, we are officially DTC (Dossier to China)! Yaaaayyyy!

So now we are waiting to be "logged in" (LID). This means that we will be logged in to the system in China and are then eligible to start receiving potential matches. We were told it usually takes about 3 weeks after DTC to be LID...so hopefully LID within the next 2 weeks!

We have been notified that there will probably be delays for several reasons. The main reasons are that, first, they are going through some database changes in the China system and are having malfunctions with the new system as well so they have said to expect delays in every part of the adoption process.
Second, they are seeing an increase in the time that families are waiting to be matched with girls under 2 years old. We definitely would like to keep the birth order and have our little girl be significantly younger than Myah (when I say significantly, I mean we are hoping for close to a year younger). Previously it has been 2-3 months from LID to being matched with a child but now they are averaging 4-7 months.
Sooo all that to say it looks like it could be up to 5 months later than we thought that we would be able to bring our little girl home, but we trust that God is in control of it all!!! It is disappointing to think that it could be that much longer before she is here. But we are excited about every new step that we reach!!! LID will be super exciting because at that point we could possibly be matched at any time.

I am getting SO excited to find out who our little girl is! I know the hardest part will be the wait from when we see her little face and know where and who she is, until we are able to actually travel to get her. But right now I am just anxious to know her!

On another note, we have a few shirts left if anyone is still interested in getting one! Here are the sizes we have left right now:
Teal & Orange "Love Never Fails" : 2 adult smalls
Black "Just One": 1 adult XL, 1 adult L, 1 youth small.
No infant/toddler grey & yellow left...sorry!
If you would like any of these just let me know!
